Day 17: John 15-19 Opening Reflection

I AM THE VINE YOU ARE THE BRANCHES

If Jesus is in You, You will bear much Fruit…

          A fruitful branch is connected to a well- nourished source, generally to a vine or too a trunk.  If you notice that a fruitful branch is normally amongst other fruitful branches because they are all connected to that same well-nourished source.

What is your SOURCE?

            Jesus continuously claims, into today’s prescribed text, Ask for whatever you desire in MY NAME and it will be given to you.

·        Jesus makes it a point; however, to let the listeners, who were probably thinking that they may have already been asking for blessings in Jesus name, know that you have asked nothing in MY NAME.

o       What does it mean to ask for something in Jesus name?

§         ASKING FOR THE THINGS OF JESUS

Maybe if we start asking for Jesus to be our source as opposed to the various things we deem a necessity, we might find our prayer life to be more productive!!!
