A day without FAITH is like a day without OXYGEN. And how did I gain this FAITH? Through the Lord Jesus Christ!

When you go through difficult times in life consider how you have been able to make it through in the past? Your faith in God is what brought you through.

Consider, just as a person who lifts weights for the first time, the weight that is lifted may be a little too heavy. However, the more you keep at it, the stronger you become. The same applies to your faith.

Your faith gives you access to God, through Christ. Therefore, if you have access to God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit has been imparted to you through faith, then there is no difficult situation that you can not come through.

The next time you find yourself in a difficult situation (bills, death in the family ,lonliness,unemployment...) just remember that God has given you the Holy Spirit to comfort you, lead you, direct you, and encourage you...

Why is it so hard for people to just believe? In spite of all that Jesus had done, there were many who still did not believe. Yet, there was a some hope when the scripture records that some of the leaders did believe but they were afraid to say so. What are the barriers to believing?

The "dessert" at the end of the meal is a welcome thought. The "hangover" concept does not bring to mind many positive ideas. I had just been thinking about what is/will be necessary to "keep the fires burning," so to speak. I was wondering what will happen at the end of the 28 days of listening and commenting. God will still be around and will still be showing Himself to those who have eyes to see. I suspect that I already know the answer, Good relationships require lots of communication and lots of work and care; especially our personal relationship with God.

These are strong words. There is at least one denomination that teaches its members that they are to shun, not associate with persons who are not also members, as they will be lost.

This definitely impresses upon me that when the Bible teaches that we are to put God first, it is a serious and total commitment, but the promise that follows makes it worthwhile, "and everything else shall come unto you."

My concern is Luke 14:26 which states that one must hate himself and other close family members in order to be a disciple of Jesus. Perhaps this is referring to hating the sin that is found in all of us???

The Gospel According to Luke: As someone who loves history I feel that Luke was a historian and that there is a great distinction between how he wrote and how John and Mark wrote. Luke's writing of the gospel includes narratives, e.g., (boy Jesus in the Temple - 2:41-52)and the raising of the widow's son at Nain (7:11-17).

Being rich or poor is purely "perspective." What would happen if we all gave thanks for God and realized that ALL of our blessings come from God (not just material things, family, etc). I think that we would then be foolish not to yearn for the Kingdom of God and to be more like Jesus.

I am amazed at John the Baptist's life. It appeared that even in his mother's womb he knew that he had a special connection with Jesus (Noted in our previous reading). However, I wonder why he chose to live in the wild and eat honey and locust? Was that his only food?

Again, this was interesting reading. Luke 4 tells of how satan tempted Jesus. This reminds me that throughout life there will be temptations to do the wrong things. This is God testing us. I must admit that I have failed several tests. However, thanks be to God who does not mind giving "make-ups."

Also, thanks so much for the info on the Sabbath. Very interesting reading!!!

Once again Jesus is confronted by Demons. He does not allow them to speak to Him because they(the demons) know who He is. What is up with this? Is there a message here for our daily lives?
